Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices in Singapore soared for all vehicle categories in the latest open bidding exercise that ended on Wednesday.
The premium for large cars (above 1,600 cc) was S$78,189, a S$4,299-jump from the previous bidding exercise.
Small cars (1,600 cc and below) recorded a S$4,200-rise in COE price to S$57,009.
For the goods vehicle and bus category, the COE price soared S$2,203 to S$52,004.
The ‘open’ vehicle category registered a COE price gain of S$4,199 to reach S$78,000.
Motorcycles recorded a S$210-increase in premium to S$2,012.
Despite the significant COE price gains in the latest and previous bidding exercises, uncertainty remains among market participants over the sustainability of these increases amid the gloomy global economic environment.
