A total of 28 winners, selected from among 119 nominees, were announced at the 2011 Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) Awards in Singapore on Monday evening.
Award candidates were selected from small- and medium-sized enterprises across Singapore, representing various businesses and disciplines, including manufacturing, telecommunications, education, finance and investments, retail, the arts and entertainment, and service industries.
Also honoured was Dr Steven Fang, Group CEO of Cordlife, who received the second annual SOE Entrepreneurship Award.
Cordlife is an internationally-recognised pioneer in stem cell banking and adult stem cell therapy.
“Through his (Dr Fang’s) business, perseverance, visionary leadership and commitment to innovation and development of his personnel, he has built Cordlife as the first cord blood banking services provider in Singapore,” SOE said in a statement.
Winners of the SOE awards, which seek to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in Singapore, are recognised for their entrepreneurial journeys and determination in building their businesses.
