Senso’s New A La Carte Spring Menu
Spring has blossomed at Senso Ristorante & Bar. Featuring the latest Spring-inspired creations by Executive Chef Yves Schmid, delight in Senso’s Asparagus ‘Jello’; double-boiled chicken consommé jelly with asparagus, crispy vegetables, ricotta cheese and herbs, Homemade Fettuccine Pasta with Green and White Asparagus, Light Lemon Butter Sauce and Italian Parsley, Penne Primavera; penne pasta with zucchini, capsicum and broccolini in ‘San Marzana’ tomato sauce, Spaghetti Pasta with Sea Urchin, Red Shallots Comfit and Italian Herbs, “Tillmann’s” Seafood Platter; grilled langoustine, sea bass, cod fillet, scallops and prawns with lemon butter sauce and cocotte of baby vegetables.
To sweeten the meal, treat yourself to Chef Schmid’s Lemon Tartlet “Big Meringue”, only available throughout the Spring season.
Arrival of the White Asparagus. A Perfect Pairing with Terlano Sauvignon D.O.C
A simple vegetable on its own, the tender White Asparagus is long touted as a delicacy in its own right. Low in calories and chockfull of vitamins, the White Asparagus is named after Italian Countess Margarete, who lived in the castle above the town of Terlano, known as the village of Asparagus. During the White Asparagus season, the town of Terlano dedicates itself to creating Asparagus dishes, which must be served with a glass of Cantina di Terlano Sauvignon.
Cantina di Terlano Sauvignon is bottled every March and only sold to local restaurants in Terlano. This is the first time that this wine, perfectly paired with White Asparagus, is shipped out of Italy and into Senso Ristorante & Bar for our White Asparagus Menu, thanks to the excellent relationship between Senso Ristorante & Bar’s general manager Ivan Haller (a native of Terlano) and the owner of Cantina di Terlano.
The Sauvignon is fresh and crisp with a balanced acidity, and an excellent match for the light and delicate White Asparagus. A limited number of bottles are shipped into Senso Ristorante & Bar, and there may not be another chance to try this perfect pairing.
